Discover Amed, Bali
Located 20 minutes from Tulamben, Amed is a small fishing village offering a nice alternative for people wanting to stay away from Tulamben. You will discover the local boats called Jukung used by fishermen lying along the sheltered bays of the area.
You can dive Amed from our Tulamben resort if you stay with us for a few days, the dives sites are as great as in Tulamben but of course you cannot dive the famous USAT Liberty wreck. Most people who stay in Amed come to Tulamben to dive on day trips so it is easier to stay in Tulamben if you want to avoid the traveling time of roughly 20 minutes each way.

Jemeluk: the steep cliffs and pyramids
A 10 minutes Jukung (fishing boat) ride will take you to one of two dive sites (5 to 60 meters deep.) The sites offer gorgonians, coral reefs and a multitude of nudibranchs and reef fish. On the steep cliff face, you will encounter turtles, gray sharks, or black or white tip sharks, groupers, wrasses, and humphead parrotfish. The pyramids are artificial reefs created some twenty years ago that attract various reef fish and their predators.
Gili Selang (Boat dive)
Only for very experienced diver!! As there could be strong currents, we only take diver with more than 25 dives and who did a couple of dives with us. The area is composed of a small bay with an island which is at the most eastern tip of Bali. The coral and the density of reef fish here is exceptional, it is also very common to encounter napoleon fish, turtle, reef sharks and pelagic. The underwater scenery is a bit like in Nusa Penida area, shorter coral due to the strong currents and colder water than in Tulamben. The island is located right at the beginning of the Lombok straight of more than 2000 meters depth.
Check the dive sites in the Padang bay area, they can only be dived by experienced divers, but are very rewarding dives, make sure you like currents before signing up for those trips. We will make sure than you have the proper training and experience before we consider to take you over there.
Lipah bay
This site is located 3 km from Jemeluk and has a wreck located near the beach. It is pretty shallow and therefore an ideal place for snorkeling. The wreck is of a small Japanese vessel with a 20m long steel hull. It is now beautifully encrusted with gorgonians, sponges and black coral. This site is very rich and you will see reef fish, ghost fish, juvenile fish or all varieties, shrimp, porcelain crabs and many nudibranchs.
