Menjangan Marine Park

Discover Menjangan Marine Park Area

From Sanur, the trip takes about 3 hours by road in our air conditioned vehicles. Menjangan is at the Northwest of Bali and it is part of the Bali Barat National Park.  It covers 19,000 hectares, including forests, dry lands, mangroves and the marine reserve.

On the way to Menjangan, you pass through Bedugul with its humid climate, and Lake Bratan.  You can see clove cultivation, peanuts drying in the sun, coffee plantations and vineyards. The west side of the island offers white sand beaches with clear and calm water almost all year around.  Diving is available for all levels of divers.  Dive concepts offers to help you discover many sites in and around Menjangan and advises that you will want to stay at least one night in the area, probably in Permuteran. We offer two days packages so you can enjoy more of this amazing place.

Manjangan Marine Park Dive Sites

Secret Bay

Secret Bay (Gilimanuk) is a small bay in shallow water (up to 10 meters) which offers 2 small islands and the mangroves to explore.  Secret Bay is an underwater nursery for many fish.  The strong tidal currents create an environment conducive to numerous fish and invertebrates that are colourful and well-fed. Secret Bay is an excellent site for muck diving.  The best time to dive is at flood tide.  Gilimanuk is a site for macro photography because it contains many rare species including gobies, nudibranchs, crustaceans, dragons, seahorses, signates, batfish and many others.

Puri jati

Puri Jati is a well-known muck diving (macro) site (along with Secret Bay and Seraya). This site is located 1 km from Sererit and 13 km west of Lovina.  It has a lovely black sand beach where you will find a lot of anemones and a few corals.  You will also have the opportunity to see octopus, blue ring octopus, signates, gobies, shrimp, anemones, seches, various crabs, garden eels, sea slugs, worms, devil fish, seahorses, and a wide variety of other organisms.

Macro Diving in Bali

Menjangan Island (Eels Garden, Shipwreck, Bat Cave, Pos II…)

This island is one of three major islands for diving around Bali.  All of the dive sites are very colorful and unique.  You can find white or black tip sharks, reef sharks, dog tunas, turtles, groupers and a multitude of reef fish.  One of these sites, Eels Garden, is known as one of the best in Bali.

We do not cover this area on day trips as it is more than 3 hrs away from both Tulamben and South Bali, we can organize multi-day trips to those places that match  our dive safari programs.  We can also organize some mini safaris; 2 to 3 days in length, for a minimum of 2 persons, please contact us for more details.
