This site is a part of a long slope that follows the whole North of Nusa Penida from Est to West. It is located in the middle of the North coast of the island.
Santal is located on the North West coast of Nusa Penida. 25 minutes by boat from Nusa Lembongan is sufficent to get to Santal. Don't forget to look to the north once on the boat to admire the mount Agung lost behind the clouds.
Mola Mola have been spotted a few times at Santal. It seems they have there a cleaning station. You will see the whole the puffer fish family, including the Giant Puffers mesuring up to 1 meter. We will also not miss angle fish, scorpion fish, box fish, clown fish, bat fish, nudibrachs, mantis shrimp.
Hard and soft coral grow out of sight along this long slope. Other coral have invaded the big rocks in the 12 meter zone.
The site is superbe in between 5 and 20 meters. The more experienced divers can do stint to 30-40 meters depending on their level to try their luck on spotting a Mola.
Kind of diving
We prefer to dive on Santal at rising tide to avoid having too much current for the beginners divers, and just to have more time to discover the smaller species.
This site is for everybody! Dive at the right tide time and the current is weak or not even present. The drift diver lovers will also find their pleasure if we dive at descending tide time!
